Residents of the community determined that the Hereford area was growing and a Fire Company was needed. A group of men held their first meeting on July 24th, 1924 in the Hereford Public School on York Road just south of Hereford.

Our founding fathers met in the Hereford Schoolhouse and formed the Fire Company
1926
A new wooden framed single bay fire station was built by Emory C. Leight. It was dedicated on February 20th 1926.
1928

The Fire Company added a second engine bay behind the first bay.
1945

World War II Civil Defense siren was added along with the letters above engine bay doors
1948

A new engine room was built and the brick front added
1962

A complete new engine room was built on the East sideof the station. This large facility is in use todayas bays 1 through 3.
2002

Hereford Volunteer Fire Company went through the largest building campaign in its 80 year history. The fire station was completely rebuilt and a new hall was constructed. There are now six engine bays, new Suppression & Administrative offices, a new day room, and two new bunk rooms.

The Summit Manor
Banquet Facility and Conference Center was built on the North side of the fire tation. Many community events and private functions are held in the new facility.
