Wiseburg United Methodist Church invites Fire Companies to breakfast

Dear Chief,

     Wiseburg United Methodist Church invites the volunteers of the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company  and your families to Wiseburg on Sunday, March 29, 2009 to a "thank you breakfast" as we honor those who serve our community. We appreciate your member’s year-round commitment to safety and service in the community and are especially thankful for the service your company rendered to one of our members, Charyl Dayton, on January 30, 2009 when her vehicle was involved in an accident on York Road. As a token of our thanks we will be serving breakfast to the volunteers and their families of Rose, Shrewsbury, Hereford, and Maryland Line.

      We thank you for your service to our community and ask that you extend this invitation especially to those members who responded on January 30 to this particular accident as well as the entire company.  Following the breakfast we have a brief time for an old-fashioned hymn fest and a short video reflection.  You and your members and their families are invited to stay and participate in that as well.

         Please accept our thanks and we look forward to thanking you in person on March 29 at 9 a.m. at Wiseburg United Methodist Church in our church hall.

Fire Company receives donation

The Hereford Zone Business Association presented the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company with a check for $3000.00 at the HZBA's monthly meeting held on Thursday, February 14 at the Monkton Hotel. The proceeds resulted from events held at the Hereford Fall Festival in October, which is co-sponsored by The HZBA and the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company. During the Festival, the HZBA hosted a hospitality tent, held raffles, and sponsored a silent auction.

The Fire Company greatly appreciates all the effort and financial support put forth by the HZBA at the Hereford Fall Festival.
