Squad 442

Squad 442 is a 2015 E-One Cyclone 780-gallon rescue engine powered by a  Cummins ISX-12 engine. When put into service in 2015 the apparatus was designated as Engine 442 and in March of 2020 was re-designated as Squad 442 after meeting the requirements for a Rescue Squad in Baltimore County. Squad 442 primarily responds on all vehicle accidents, calls involving rescues such as back country rescues, vehicle accidents with entrapments, and other emergency responses.

Squad 442 key equipment features include: a full complement of Holmatro Pentheon Battery Powered Rescue tools, including PSP40 & PSP50 Spreaders, PCU50 & PCU60 Cutters, PTR40 & PTR50 Rams. Other rescue equipment including 20K winch, grain rescue kit, tractor-trailer rated rescue jacks, non-sparking sledgehammers, line gun, wide assortment of ropes, high and low pressure air bags, booms and absorbent for hazardous materials response. In addition to the rescue equipment structural firefighting equipment carried is 1,500 gallon per minute water pump; 1,200 feet of 4-inch supply line; 500 feet of 3-inch supply line; 1,000 feet of 1.75-inch attack line; 250 feet of 2.5-inch attack line; Akron Brass attack nozzles; ladders; 5 SCBA packs; multiple ceiling hooks; forcible entry tools; a thermal imaging camera; emergency medical equipment; fire extinguishers.
